Verify the ESA licence
Ask for the contractor's ECRA/ESA licence number and check it on the ESA's public registry.
Confirm insurance
Ask for proof of liability insurance and WSIB coverage before any work begins.
Get it in writing
Look for an itemized quote, a clear scope and a stated warranty, not a vague lump sum.
Watch for red flags
